Sonja Greenway

Principal

I am originally from the Midwest; I grew up in Iowa, but have been in Colorado since 1991. I earned my bachelor's degree in English and Anthropology from Luther College, my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at CU Boulder, and received my principal’s license through CSU Global. I love the mountains and this community. What a place to live and work!

I have served the district for over 25 years, first teaching 6th and 8th grade language arts, later as a literacy interventionist, and most recently as an instructional coach. I’m honored to serve my EPMS family as their principal and look forward to helping to make this an exceptional year.

Our students are the most important members of our learning community, and I want to ensure that we see, hear, listen to, and value each one of them. These middle school years are critical and will have a lasting impact on their growth and development as learners and as human beings.

Our district vision promises that we provide Excellent Educational Experiences for Every Student, Every Day, and I promise to ask myself every day if we are accomplishing this in the middle school.

My head, heart and hopes are with all members of this school community, and I am privileged to work with such a dedicated, collaborative and innovative team of students, educators, parents and community members.  My mission is to continue to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement to promote both growth and achievement for all of our students.

It truly is good in the middle!

“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.“ – Marian Wright Edelman

Dr. Ryan Harris

Assistant Principal

I started my professional career in Missouri at Park High School in Riverside, Missouri. For eight years I taught special education and coached soccer. During the summer of 2022, my family and I relocated to Colorado. For the past two school years, I served as the Instructional Coach at Winograd K-8 school in Greeley, Colorado. I received my bachelor's degree in Special Education in 2014 from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Desiring to become a school leader, I graduated with my master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Kansas in 2018 and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2022.

I am a proud husband and father. While not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy sports and spending time outside. I look forward to working in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I am passionate about building relationships with all stakeholders based on trust, student success, well-being, and achievement, and helping all students meet their full potential.
