Mary Barron

EPHS Principal

I have been working in the field of public education for almost 25 years, and I am honored to be entering my 3rd year as principal of Estes Park High School.

In the past, I have served as an assistant principal, special education administrator, 6-12 classroom teacher, and restorative practices coordinator in Colorado and Kansas.

I received my BA of Communication Arts from Park University, my MA in Special Education from University of Missouri, Kansas City and Educational Leadership endorsement from UNC in Greeley.

In addition to working in the school system, I volunteer as a board member with the Estes Valley Restorative Justice Partnership and Estes Park Police Department as a facilitator of Community Group Conferencing.

I love being outdoors, especially hiking and camping, and have been studying the
wild plants and flowers of Colorado for the past 10 years. I have two daughters, one entering her junior year of high school and the other a sophomore at CSU.

John Wahler

Interim Assistant Principal, CTE Director

After teaching physical education at Estes Park Elementary for 7 years, I was appointed principal of Estes Park Elementary School and served  for 7 years. I then accepted a job as principal of Sanborn Elementary School in Longmont and served here for 15 years.

After I retired from Colorado, I was principal of Hobbs Elementary School in Cheyenne, WY, for 3 years.

Now I am back in Estes Park Schools serving as interim assistant principal!
